He Made His Victims Into Burgers – And Sold Them To Unsuspecting Customers

You might want to take a good look at the next burger you’re eating and make sure it really is beef, chicken or pork.  Because serial killer Joe Metheny turned his victims into burger meat and it was all pretty gross.  Especially for anyone who ate the burgers.

Metheny was a man with a terrible temper.   His drug addicted wife had run away from him, together with their son.  Metheny flew into a rage and after looking everywhere for them, unsuccessfully, he turned to innocent victims.  He went on a killing spree, raping, murdering and then chopping up his victims.

Metheny was like many other serial killers.  Very smart.  Sick and smart.  After the killings he knew he had to dispose of the bodies carefuly.  Rather than bury them, he chopped them up into small pieces, mixed them with pork, and moulded them into burgers.  He then cooked and sold the burgers to his customers from his roadside food stand, in Maryland, USA.

Metheny literally got away with murder for two years.  It took two years for the police to find and arrest him.  He was a huge guy but when he was arrested, he never tried to escape and he never denied his crimes.  It was almost like he wanted to be found.

Metheny’s first victims were not randomly chosen. They were homeless men who Methany suspected of doing drugs with his wife. Although they denied knowing where she was, Methany killed them. And then he developed a taste, literally, for blood.

Metheny never apologised for the murders.  In fact, he openly said he was sorry that he had never managed to find and kill his wife.
