Deformed babies and a wasteland province: the cost for North Korea nuclear tests

A defector from North Korea reported that the country’s nuclear test site has become a swamp. Mothers who gave birth to their babies in the hospital there realized that their angels have defects. Deformed babies are the result of nuclear tests.
The Punggye-Ri nuclear test facility in Kilju country is located underground and defectors reported that the underground wells are dry now after the sixth nuclear test was done. It was also said that around 80 percent of the trees are dead due to contamination
The research Association of Vision of North Korea interviewed the 21 defectors and had taken into account their horrifying statements.

A defector mentioned that the people are terrified of any infection that comes from radiation.
The defectors are still in contact with some of their family members in North Korea, and they are getting information about what is truly happening in that wasteland country. They share the precious information for hopes of public awareness.
According to the defector who was present during the two nuclear tests in October 2006 and May 2009, the local residents who are not related to the soldiers were not given a warning about the tests to prepare themselves. But the family of soldiers was sheltered in the underground shafts for their safety.

It was also found out that the Kilju local residents were prohibited from visiting the hospital in Pyongyang, the country’s capital. That ban was implemented after the current nuclear test.
People who tried to smuggle samples of water, soil, or leaves through riding a train are immediately sent to prison camps. The North Korea officials are quite serious in making sure that there will be no leaks that can incriminate them regarding the destructive nuclear tests.
