The Proof is In. Stay at home Moms are working the equivalent of almost 3 jobs!

The value of stay at home mothers has been undervalued forever. While moms might say ‘this feels like a full-time job’ the truth is that being a mother IS a full-time job. And it is more than just one job. Being a stay at home mother is the equivalent of two and a half full-time jobs.

No wonder mothers are exhausted and feeling under appreciated. Studies were conducted recently on over 2000 American moms. The results are honestly staggering. A mother will generally be awake well before 6 am. They try and start doing household chores before the baby, babies or children are awake, perhaps squeezing the orange juice, putting in a load of laundry, doing some ironing.

Then the baby will wake up and need feeding and cleaning, young children need breakfast, lunch boxes must be made, school lifts done and that is not half of it. Before 8. 30 am a mother will have done a ton of work, while people in an office are just getting their first cup of coffee. And the mom still has to make her own coffee.

Studies show that most American moms start their day early and only end it after dinner. Whereas most people in the corporate world have an eight-hour working day, a mother has a working day between ten and twelve hours. Plus, her day is seven days a week. There is no weekend.

With that, there are very few times to have a break, put your feet up or even catch a nap. The best advice for any mom is to try and take a nap when your baby takes a nap, and if possible, get help. Help can be expensive which is why so many mothers work full-time x 2.5. Breathe in, don't put pressure on yourself, and you know, it’s okay if the house is a little messy!
