Billionaire Owner of Patagonia is Suing Trump Over National Monuments: ‘This Government is Evil'

The Bears Ears National Monument and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument were cut down in size by approximately two million acres.

This was the decision of President Donald Trump and many people are not happy about it. Many companies, organizations, and activists are being loud about their frustrations.

Patagonia Owner Yvon Chouinard is attempting to sue President Trump for what he calls “stealing”. It was stated that the reduced land is not owned by the U.S. government. Patagonia is an outdoor gear and apparel company.

Chouinard expressed that the Trump administration understands lawsuit well enough, that they are evil and there is no way that he will let the evil administration win. He also mentioned that the U.S. needs more land since there is only four percent of national parks in the American lands.

Costa Rica even has ten percent, and so we cannot afford to have less U.S.  Government-own lands.

 There it stated that the illegal move by the President of the U.S. is the biggest reduction of protected land to ever happen in the history of America.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton passed a bill protecting the Sacred Native American Lands and archaeological sites during their term, but now Pres. Trump is planning to deplete Bears Ears to 220,000 acres instead of its 1.35 million acres of land.

The two million acres of land of the Grand Staircase-Escalante will be cut in half. The purpose is to have the land open for coal mining and oil drilling.


Patagonia and other companies are working together to create public awareness regarding the U.S. lands. The economic growth must not sacrifice the historical landmarks of the country.
