Japanese company plans world's tallest wooden building
A Japanese firm has proposed a plan to construct the Tallest wooden building in the world.
The building is expected to be a 1,148-foot skyscraper in central Tokyo.
Sumitomo Forestry Co. Ltd., one of Japan's top timber and forest management firm plans to complete the building in 2041 to mark its 350th anniversary.
The company is building the skyscraper as a part of its mission to create an environment-friendly city.
The exterior of the building will be 90% made from wood, the interior will also be made from pure wood. However, the buildings will still be surrounded by steel frame for strength.
"Such buildings create a comfortable environment for both plants and living organisms, providing a pleasant space for the people living there," the firm added in a statement.
Once completed, the building will become the world’s tallest wooden structure, and the tallest building in Japan.
