1. San Francisco Earthquake, 1906


An earthquake struck the coast of Northern California at 5:12, April 18, 1906. Thousands of homes were dismantled, and 80% of the city was destroyed.

2. Bison skulls used for fertilizer, 1870


Bison were hunted to extinction in 19th century. Their bones were used in making fertilizer, refining sugar and fine bone china. Their price was $2-1$15 per a ton.

3. Migrant Mother, 1936


Known as Migrant Mother, this photo was a symbol of America’s Great Depression era. In March 1936, famous photographer Dorothea Lange snapped this photo of a mother in a camp of 2500 destitute campers.

4. Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima, 1945


The photograph was taken by Joe Rosenthal on February 23, 1945 as 6 US Marines are raising a flaf during the Battle of Iwo Juma, during World War II.

5. ‘I Have a Dream’ Speech, 1963


On August 28, 19623, American civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom delivered his public speech  in front of a crowd of 250 000 people.



6. Hindenburg Disaster, 1937


The Hindenburg Disaster occurred on May 6, 1937 in Manchester Townsip, New Jersey. German airship LZ 129 caught fire. It was a disaster where 36 of the passengers died.

7. The Assassination of  the President


On November 22, shortly after noon, the 35thPresident of the United States of America was assassinated as he rode in a motorcade through Deaely Plaza in Dallas, Texas.
