Asia’s First-Ever Vertical Forest Will Produce 132 Pounds Of Oxygen Each Day

Stefano Boeri Achitetti introduced the idea of installing a vertical forest in Milan and is now seeking to build the same in Nanjing, China.

In the Nanjing Pukou District, the two overlooking towers will be done before the year 2019. The towers will have 1,100 trees, 2,500 cascading shrubs and plants, and the whole thing will give out 132 pounds of oxygen daily which will clean the air.

The taller tower which is 656 feet tall will have offices, a green architecture school, a museum, and a rooftop club. The other tower which is 354 feet tall will house a 247-room Hyatt hotel with a rooftop swimming pool. There will also be restaurants, shops and a conference hall in the second tower.

Since the air is too polluted, guests who want to be closer to nature and breathe clean fresh air can stay at the hotel.

According to the press release by Stefano Boeri Architetti, the towers will have 600 tall trees and 500 medium-sized trees.

Nanjing Yang Zi State-owned Investment Group Company Limited is taking the lead in promoting this first ever green tower in Asia. The company recognized the potential for this nature to advance all efforts in modernization in Nanjing and so they have fully supported it.

Due to the economic boost that the green towers are providing, many investors will take notice and will start investing in the city of Nanjing. Aside from the health benefits that will clearly be the result of the two green towers, the city of Nanjing can greatly benefit economically from this.

Following Nanjing, more green towers will be constructed in the cities of China like Guizhou, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Lizhou by the competent architectural firm of Architetti.
