Man Who Saved 669 Children During The Holocaust Has No Idea They’re Around Him

During the World War II, a young British stockbroker named Nicholas Winton risked his life and dropped everything behind to create a safe passage for 669 Jewish kids from Nazi-occupied Europe to England. The kids were brought to England and then handed over to British families willing to adopt them. The act was so secretive that even his wife didn't even know about it until 50 years later when she saw a scrapbook in their attic listing the names of all the children he’d saved.

Letters were sent to the children after they grew up, 200 responded out of the 669. The world came to know of his heroic deeds in an episode of BBC’s That’s Life where Sir Nicholas was invited as a member of the audience.

Nicolas was fully unaware that the people sitting around him were the children he saved. Watch the video below to see the moment he finally realized.
